Governing Structure & Management Bodies

The highest decision-making body is the General Meeting of Association Members (GMAM). GMAM meets no less than once a year. The general meeting of members cannot have less than 5 members. The GMAM is headed by the President of the association and in her absence by the oldest member of the GMAM. The protocol of the GMAM is signed by the chairperson of the session and the employee or protocol holder. GMAM in a state of emergency when it is not possible to physically gather members can hold its meetings online.

GMAM, in addition to other issues that should be considered by it, decides on the approval or amendment of the statute, defines the areas and programs of activity, regularly supervises and controls their implementation, examines economic, financial and administration issues, approves the most important acts important regarding the association’s budget and expenses for the next year, issue norms for the regulation of the activity, organization and structure of the organization, elect and appoint the highest members of the executive body, create special committees for other matters of expressly provided in the law or in this statute, creates a control commission for the economic activity of the association.

GMAM accepts or excludes members, decides on the creation of association branches throughout the territory of Albania. The General Meeting of the Association Members, to elect the governing bodies, is called by the President of the association once every five years, where no less than ¾ of the members of the association must be present. Notification of the GMAM meeting is made in writing at least 5 days in advance. Decisions are made by majority vote. Decisions on the change in the association’s statute, the expulsion of a member or the dissolution of the association are made by the majority of votes, with no less than ¾ of the members of the GMAM of the association being present.

President of the association

The President of the Association is the representative of the association. He leads the GMAM and is part of the Association’s Executive Board

Responsibilities and attributes of the President of the association

  • The president of the association is elected by the GMAM of the association with ¾ of the votes of its members. Implements the program approved by the GMAM of the association;
  • Takes initiatives for issues not foreseen in the program or urgent issues which are examined by the MPA at the next meeting;
  • Takes care of the financial situation of the association and decides based on the financial situation of the association, the number of employed persons or for special services in the association;
  • The president directs the daily activity of the association and makes decisions for urgent cases related to the operational activity;
  • The president can be rewarded for the work he/she does;

The President has the right to request a meeting of the GMAM of the association for extraordinary cases or urgent problems, within a period of not less than 5 days. The president chooses the technical staff of the association.
